Richard Arnold, the chief executive officer of Manchester United, is expected to resign from his position with the club before the end of the year.
The 52-year-old was always expected to go after Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s offer to buy a 25% share in the club was made public, with the agreement scheduled to be completed during the international break in November. The departure was always anticipated to take place when the bid was made official.
Arnold joined United in 2007 and quickly became an integral part of the club’s efforts to expand their commercial presence throughout his tenure there. After Ed Woodward stepped down from his position as executive vice chairman in February 2022, he was given the position of chief executive officer.
