The Hoops backcourt has been decimated in recent weeks.
Brendan Rodgers admits he’s counting down the days until Greg Taylor returns to action after admitting Celtic have missed him. Stopper Cameron Carter-Vickers is also out, but is unlikely to return until the beginning of March following an injury-plagued season. Following yesterday’s 2-0 victory over St Mirren, Rodgers told Viaplay: “Greg Taylor has been a big miss for us.

The left back.Taylor, 26, has missed the last four games due to a groyne strain sustained in last month’s 5-0 Scottish Cup victory over Buckie Thistle. In his absence, Argentine defender Alexandro Bernabei has been called into action, but Rodgers admits Taylor brings a new dimension to the Hoops.
“When someone like Greg isn’t on the team, you can really see what he brings. His brilliance, cleverness, technique, and physicality in terms of running and getting into the right places. He’s back in training and will be available next weekend.

“Carter-Vickers won’t take long. Again, he is on the pitch, but this has been a difficult year for him. He’s had the operation, and you know, he’s had rumblings there, and it may have taken him the entire year to recover and then have a good preseason, but he’s back on the pitch, and hopefully he’ll be fine in the next few weeks.”

Meanwhile, Rodgers is awaiting further medical advice on Alistair Johnston, who suffered a fractured skull during the midweek win at Easter Road. He added, “We are just waiting to see him again. A small fracture on the side. However, it could last anywhere from 10 days to four weeks. “We’ll have to wait and see.”
