Brendan Rodgers Discusses a “Massive” Celtic Comeback
Celtic have suffered an injury-plagued season, with Reo Hatate and Cameron Carter-Vickers playing their first Glasgow Derbies under Brendan Rodgers this weekend.
The recent returns of Reo Hatate, Callum McGregor, and Cameron Carter-Vickers have reinforced Celtic’s lineup at an important moment, while newcomers Adam Idah and Nicolas Kuhn are also settling in.
Notably, Reo Hatate’s comeback from injury has had a significant impact on Celtic’s recent results.
Hatate returned to competitive action against Livingston after a bounce game during the international break, and he continued his impressive performance at Ibrox.
Rodgers emphasised Hatate’s importance, telling Celtic TV, “It’s massive for us.
“It’s difficult for Reo because in the summer he just came back in and was trying to gain fitness. He wasn’t quite at his level and what we expected.
“He’s been injured a lot of the season, but I’ve seen his work and mentality in wanting to get back and I just think there’s absolutely no doubt that when he’s in the team, he adds that extra dimension to the game.
“He allows you to progress the game and move forward, he’s creative and in that period that he was on, he gave us real authority in the middle of the pitch.
“He’s only going to get fitter and stronger and that’s only going to benefit the team.”
As Celtic prepare for their forthcoming match against St Mirren, the squad’s improved fitness could be crucial in surviving the hurdles of the final league stretch.
The goal is clear: to keep control of their destiny and win the title with a perfect run in the remaining games.
