Celtic F.C
Brendan Rodgers has a plea for the Celtic supporters who will support their team against Hearts.
With only a few games remaining and a double on the line, it’s reasonable to argue that certain members of the Celtic fanbase have not had the best of relationships with the club this season. Nevertheless, everyone needs to get together.
Over the coming weeks, Celtic will play Hearts, Rangers, Kilmarnock, and St Mirren in an attempt to win the Scottish Premiership for the third time in a row.
Since the Bhoys have three of those four games at home at Celtic Park, they have a significant lead over the second-place Ibrox team in the title race.
But there’s extra pressure associated with these home outings. We are all aware that when anxiety rises in the spectators, it can be challenging for the squad to perform. Excellent support, indeed, although it’s normal to feel anxious this time of year.
Knowing this, Brendan Rodgers has urged Celtic supporters to have patience with their team throughout these crucial games.
Brendan Rodgers on the significance of the Celtic fanbase
During a press conference on Friday, Rodgers stated of Celtic FC: “They play a huge part. I think that has been the difference over the last few months – how everything has been connected.
“Because they, along with ourselves and the staff are a connection to the team and an extension of what we see on the field. That support they give to the team is unrivalled when everyone’s onside and there with us. To have that in three of the last four games at home will be special.
“But also, we’ll need that patience as well because teams aren’t going to turn up and roll over – we have to be patient in the stands as well as on the field.
“We’ll be looking to play our game at the right speed and tempo and causing difficult moments for the opposition. To play at home on the pitch with the crowd, hopefully, we can take that advantage with us.”
It takes courage for any Celtic fan to win a title, thus they must remain brave during this time. Yes, the competition for the championship is probably tighter than any of us felt comfortable with following the Rangers’ early-season meltdown and Michael Beale’s departure.
However, given the circumstances, the team has clearly put in a great deal of work to position itself to win additional major honours. If necessary, unity will enable the Bhoys to defeat not only Hearts but also Rangers and St. Mirren.
Whether the score is 0-0 or 0-1 against the opposition at the hour mark, stick with the team and the winnings are more likely to be shared. Get ready for a dramatic month.
