Brendan Rodgers issued a harsh’much higher level’ transfer warning to Odin Thiago Holm of Celtic.
Brendan Rodgers has reminded Odin Thiago Holm that he will need to work harder to make it at Celtic.
Despite appearing in pre-season matches against Ayr United and Queen’s Park, the teenager has struggled to establish himself in the team since joining for £2 million last summer. Rogers stated, “They need to be at a much higher level.” To play for Celtic, you need to be. Odin should do more. But there is definitely something there.
“And that’s why we persevere and stick with it, because he has talent, like Bosun Lawal, and that’s why we want to give them a chance, so I can see them in pre-season. But it simply keeps running. You’ll have to run. Without the ball, you must sprint, be bright, and be in favorable positions to push the game before gaining possession and taking the ball.
“You saw Francis Turley come into the game the other night. It’s a kid I’ve only seen for a few days, but if he can improve and get his body in shape, he’ll be a good player. It’s a kid who moves well.
“You can see how he moves, how he takes the ball, sprints, how bright he is, how he goes into the box and finishes. He just needs more power and energy, but that’s football; it’s movement, taking the ball, and being intelligent.

“So, I believe the two boys you mentioned (Holm and Lawal) are talented. But I want more. Many more. Simply having talent is insufficient. You can play in teams, but not on our team.”
