Brendan Rodgers provides an injury update.

Cameron Carter-Vickers is expected to return to Celtic’s defence against Feyenoord on Wednesday.

It may be a dead rubber, but with one point from five games and £2.5 million on the line for the victor, three points from the Dutch champions would be a timely boost for the entire club.

Carter-Vickers was replaced at halftime against Hibs on Wednesday due to hamstring stiffness; on Friday, it was reported that he had undergone an MRI scan to determine the extent of any damage.

Carter-Vickers was missing from Celtic’s lineup today but should be back in action soon thanks to Kilmarnock’s plastic pitch.

When asked about the Carter-Vickers scan results by Sky Sports, Rodgers told the Glasgow Times:

To be fair, it was pretty clear but he has just felt a bit of stiffness around it so we don’t want to force it.

He has obviously played a lot of games since he has come back from injury. Nat can come in and do a great job for us and then hopefully Cam will be available in the midweek.

Following Phillips’ performance today, Carter-Vickers’ return on Wednesday will be greatly appreciated.

Despite the fact that both of the summer signings are fit and in full training, the on-loan Liverpool defender was chosen ahead of Gus Lagerbielke and Maik Nawrocki.

In other news, Neil McCann insists Rangers’ red card was incorrect, citing a Celtic example to demonstrate he is not wearing blue-tinted glasses.
