Brendan Rodgers, Celtic’s manager, has been discussing Callum McGregor’s status following his absence from last week’s match against Hearts.

The Bhoys captain missed the Tynecastle match due to a suspected calf/Achilles injury and was sent for a scan to determine the source of the problem.

Unfortunately, Rodgers believes the scan was inconclusive, and McGregor will remain out until after the international break.

When asked for an update, the Celtic FC manager replied Via Celtic FC YouTube: “Yeah, it was inconclusive really. We had it in our mind anyway he would miss through until the international break and then take it from there.

“He travelled for the scan but nothing was really shown up on that. We’ll assess it over the next couple of weeks.

“We just have to see how that feels on a day-to-day basis, really.”

Luis Palma is in doubt for Celtic’s match against Livingston.

Meanwhile, Rodgers revealed in his media conference that winger Luis Palma has a knock and may not play against Livingston in the Scottish Cup on Sunday.

This season, the Honduran has made 23 appearances for Celtic, scoring six goals and assisting nine.

However, he has been on the substitutes bench in recent weeks and was not used in last weekend’s game against Hearts.

Hyunjun Yang is also out due to suspension, which means winter signing Nicolas Kuhn could have another chance to impress this weekend.

Daizen Maeda is also expected to start, and Kyogo Furuhashi could play in a wide position to assist striker Adam Idah.

In other news, According to Stephen McGinn, Alexandro Bernabei is not nearly as good as the player on Celtic’s B team.
