Brendan Rodgers has stated that he wants three strikers in the Celtic first team. Despite strong speculation about a permanent move for Adam Idah, the Irishman currently only has Kyogo as his primary first-team striker.

Adam Idah: Celtic make approach to sign Norwich striker on ...

The Scottish Champions have had a bid rejected for the Irish attacker as they look to raid Norwich for the player who helped Celtic win the League and Scottish Cup double last year.
Speaking ahead of Wednesday morning’s game against Manchester City, Rodgers admitted that the club needs to sign two new strikers this summer.”I think my ideal scenario was to have three: Kyogo, one other, and a young player.

“That was the role we proposed at Rocco.

It is extremely difficult for a club of this size to have three number-one strikers. You can live with two because we play so many games, and the specific nature of the games allows us to change it up. Three is extremely difficult. But I also think that for development, I’d like to bring in some young players, perhaps from within.

“Rocco was that, but he has moved on. So we may need to look elsewhere. But three is a very good number. Two, I believe, should be number one strikers, one of whom we can nurture and develop.

Celtic could look to sign a young forward to serve as a third-choice striker behind Kyogo (and hopefully Idah). Brendan previously stated that he wanted Rocco Vata to fill that role, but the youngster chose to join Championship side Watford, so the club is looking for another young player to fill it.

Norwich have claimed that Celtic’s pursuit of Idah has stalled. Celtic are expected to revisit their interest in the player, but fans have expressed concern about the lack of progress in a deal that the manager has stated he is eager to pursue.
