Cleveland Browns
Browns are adding another quarterback to their roster.
The Cleveland Browns entered the 2023 NFL season with great expectations of becoming a Super Bowl title contender, with star quarterback Deshaun Watson healthy and ready to prove his value following a dismal debut the previous season.
Unfortunately, Watson only appeared in six games before sustaining another season-ending injury, which was considered to destroy the team’s chances of competing in the AFC going ahead.
Despite losing star running back Nick Chubb to a season-ending injury, the team was able to bring in veteran quarterback Joe Flacco, who played far better than predicted and helped the team reach the NFL playoffs.
The Browns eventually lost to the upstart Houston Texans in the first round of the NFL playoffs, but Cleveland demonstrated resilience in a season that should have ended when probably the team’s two top offensive players were sidelined with season-ending injuries.
With Watson proving unreliable due to ongoing injury difficulties, the team addressed the quarterback dilemma this NFL offseason by signing Jameis Winston to back up their starter.
Along with the wise decision to add Winston, Cleveland recently signed quarterback Jacob Sirmon, according to the team’s Twitter account.

Obviously, adding Sirmon is not a game changer for the Browns, as they will need Watson to step up if this club is to be successful and meet expectations in the future.
However, having formidable backups behind the frequently injured Watson seemed to be the best option for a club that could compete for a championship.
