The Championship clash offered very little for the neutral with Wright’s winner coming in controversial fashion. The ball seemed to go out of play before Milan van Ewijk pulled the ball back, but the Sky Blues will take it.

However, as has been the case on many occasions this season, Coventry ’s lack of creativity and spark was blatantly obvious. The midfield trio, consisting of Josh Eccles, Ben Sheaf and Jamie Allen do the job in the ‘engine room’ but it’s lacking something.

Callum O’Hare continued his recovery to full fitness after rupturing his ACL on Boxing Day. Having missed the opening 12 games of the season, the 25-year-old has featured in five of the last six games.

The midfielder was left on the bench in Saturday’s 3-0 win over Millwall but was introduced at 0-0 against Plymouth. Whilst he wasn’t directly involved in the winner, his introduction injected some much-needed energy into the CBS Arena.

O’Hare replaced Tatsuhiro Sakamoto and took up a position on the right wing. He completed 87% of his passes and created two chances (as per FutMob) but there is a very obvious change that could work wonders over the Christmas period.

At times on Tuesday, the similarities between the midfield trio were too obvious. Should O’Hare be introduced into the middle, he could be vital. After the game, Robins insisted that O’Hare impressed when he moved centrally.

Since moving to Coventry, O’Hare has been renowned for playing in the attacking midfield position. In fact, 88 of his 151 appearances have come from a central position.

Robins admitted after the game that his side have to be better if they are to climb up the table. Slow tempo and decision making were elements to their game highlighted after Plymouth.

Shoehorning O’Hara into midfield to unleash his attacking creativity has to be considered for the festive period.
