Celtic F.C
CCV ON THE BRINK
When Celtic plays Aberdeen at Parkhead tomorrow for the top of the table, Camer-Vickers is poised to make a spectacular return.
After hobbling off with a toe injury near the conclusion of the 5-1 Champions League matchday one victory over Slovan Bratislava at home precisely one month ago, the Hoops’ defensive stalwart has missed four straight games.
A £6 million deadline-day acquisition from Sheffield United, fellow-American international Auston Trusty filled in against the Slovaks and continued to be Liam Scales’ key back-four partner for the victories over Ross County (2-1), Falkirk (5-2), and St Johnstone (6-0).
In the second match in Europe’s most prestigious competition, he was also a member of the visiting team that was thrashed 7-1 in Dortmund.
Now, though, it looks as though 26-year-old Carter-Vickers is ready for a return to action after being spotted in training at Lennoxtown this week, as reported by the Daily Record.
It’s shaping up to be a no-holds-barred encounter in the east end of Glasgow as this season’s Premiership juggernauts, who have both claimed seven successive victories, go head to head.
A full-strength champions’ line-up would undoubtedly boost Brendan Rodgers’ side in such a crucial confrontation.
