Celtic attacker set for medical ahead of EFL move
According to Sky Sports, Watford are closing in on a deal to sign Celtic attacker Rocco Vata, with the player set to undergo a medical.
Watford are planning to bring the winger down to Hertfordshire to help bolster their attacking department. They are preparing for their first full season in the Championship under Tom Cleverley’s leadership and are looking for new faces.
Vata, 19, saw his contract with Celtic expire at the end of last month and has been considering his options. The prospect is regarded as having a promising future in the game and has recently been in high demand.
According to Sky Sports‘ most recent update on his future, the teenager is ‘close’ to agreeing to a four-year deal at Vicarage Road and will undergo medical tests on Wednesday. If the deal is completed, the Hoops will receive £237,000 in compensation.

Vata would be a wise long-term investment for Watford, bolstering their attacking ranks.
He has spent his entire career with Celtic, rising through their academy ranks.
The prospect has been an important player for the Glasgow giants at various youth levels, and he has recently established himself as a regular for their B team in the Lowland League, scoring 23 goals in 34 games.
Vata, a Republic of Ireland youth international, has made six appearances for the Hoops’ first team and scored once.
Celtic have been keen to keep him as they look to defend their Scottish Premiership title against Rangers next season. However, it appears that he is leaving for a new opportunity in England.
Watford Plans
Watford is being patient with their recruitment as Cleverley seeks to imprint his own style on the squad.
They have recently parted ways with Ben Hamer, Ashley Fletcher, and Jake Livermore in order to free up space and funds in their ranks for new additions, with Vata potentially becoming the latest.
