Celtic eye £20m trio, Rangers move for attacker and defender, Scotland striker sold for £1.5m
A surprise £10 million bid is received by Celtic.
Following Matt O’Riley’s £26 million move to Brighton, Celtic has now received a second, very lucrative offer for one of their star players. Reo Hatate, a fellow midfielder, has also had a strong start to the new campaign, and connections to Premier League team Leicester City have surfaced recently. But in an unexpected move, a French club has put in a £10 million bid for the Japanese international. The Daily Mail claims that Celtic has rejected the offer from the unidentified Ligue 1 team and is unwilling to lose any more important players during this transfer window. Earlier in the window, Zenit St Petersburg’s approach from the Russian side was also rejected. Hatate’s contract expires in 2028, and although he has stated that he wants to play professionally, he isn’t in a rush to leave Glasgow and won’t be departing before the deadline of 11 p.m. on Friday.
Rangers wants to sign a Bundesliga defender.
Rangers are looking for a replacement center-half after Ben Davies left to sign a season-long loan with Birmingham City. Last week, the club was linked to Brazilian defender Kaiky, who is currently with Almeria. However, it has been reported that the Spanish second division team has rejected a loan offer with a buyout option.
Rangers are reportedly interested in Hoffenheim centre back Stanley Nsoki, according to new reports on Wednesday. There have reportedly been discussions about a loan transfer between the Bundesliga team and the Ibrox team, according to the French publication L’Equipe. Rangers manager Philippe Clement is familiar with the player, having managed Club Brugge when he was manager.
Scotland striker sold for £1.5m
Lyndon Dykes, a striker from Scotland, signed a three-year contract with Birmingham after leaving Queens Park Rangers after four years. Dykes now plays in League One. In August 2020, the 28-year-old moved from Livingston to the West London club, where he scored 37 goals for the Championship team.
But Dykes has moved to Birmingham for an alleged £1.5 million fee, having made just two substitute appearances this season since recovering from the injury that kept him out of the Euro 2024 earlier this summer. Following the announcement of his transfer on Wednesday, Dykes told the Blues website, “The club has a clear aim for where they want to go in the future.” It’s ambitious, which is similar to me as a player. My goal is to succeed, and I’m hoping Birmingham can help me do that. I’m excited to get going because there are some really good players here. It’s a very good club, and I want to help it grow and return to its rightful place.
