Celtic goalkeeping target exits Euros despite strong showing

Celtic goalkeeping target Martin Dubravka was left heartbroken as England won their Euro 2024 Round of 16 tie in Extra Time. The 35-year-old goalie has impressed as Slovakia have defied expectations to reach the knockouts.

Harry Kane’s goal in the opening minute propelled Gareth Southgate’s team into the Quarterfinals, following Jude Bellingham’s bicycle kick goal in the 95th minute. Due to the outcome, Dubravka will now return home and look for a new club.

Dubravka will probably enjoy the Champions League draw in addition to fighting for medals. Even so, as he is now returning, it is anticipated that an announcement will be made regarding Dubravka’s potential replacement for Joe Hart.

It’s likely that Celtic will have a list of possible Hart replacements. Dubravka, however, would likely fulfil the requirement of being available, but considering his age, he would not be a long-term solution.
