Celtic Injury Boost Ahead of Trip to Motherwell
Before Sunday’s league game against Motherwell, SNS Group has taken pictures of the entire Celtic team exercising. The good news for Hoops supporters is that Alistair Johnston, Greg Taylor, and Cameron Carter-Vickers were all on the training field.
Carter-Vickers returned to training last week, but he was left out of the squad for the encounter against Aberdeen and did not accompany the team to Italy for their Champions League fixture.
Another welcome return to training was Greg Taylor, who hasn’t played since before the international break. The left-back would return to action this week, according to Rodgers.
Despite displaying signs of exhaustion and a severe cramp towards the end of the midweek Champions League match, Alistair Johnston, who gave an outstanding performance against Atalanta, was also in training. Although Johnston collapsed in weariness after pushing through to the last whistle, he seems prepared to play again on Sunday.
With the team now nearly fully stocked, Rodgers will probably discuss Carter-Vickers and Taylor’s preparedness during his pregame press conference as Celtic attempts to build on their recent success at home.
Celtic struggled against Motherwell last season, depending on late wins, but the Hoops will try to resume their winning ways following last week’s draw with Aberdeen.
