Celtic launch bid for 23 y/o, Rangers outcast turns down exit, Hibs offer under consideration – transfer news
Launch bid for 23-year-old
Mateusz Bogusz is an attacking midfielder for Los Angeles FC, and Celtic has made an offer for him. The Polish player, 23, was not expected to be acquired until after his team’s early-morning participation in the MLS Leagues Cup final on Monday.
After LAFC’s loss to Columbus Crew, negotiations were renewed, and as of right now, Sky Sports reports that Celtic has made an official bid for the former Leeds United player. Arne Engels, a midfielder for Augsburg, is another player that Celtic is attempting to sign. According to reports, personal terms have been reached with the Belgian Under-21 international, but Celtic will need to increase their offer for the 20-year-old after the Bundesliga team turned down their initial £6.5 million offer.
Rangers outcast refuses exit
According to reports, Ianis Hagi has rejected an exit offer, which is a setback for Rangers in their attempt to remove him from the salary bill. After learning that manager Philippe Clement does not have the Romanian international in his plans, the player has begun training with the B team.
A substantial salary increase is allegedly owed to the 25-year-old if he makes one more appearance for the Ibrox team, which is the reason behind his exile from the first team. In order to raise funds for new signings during the last week of the transfer window, Rangers is depending on player departures. The midfield player would prefer to stay in Glasgow than return to his native country, so he declined a transfer to Rapid Bucharest, according to Sky Sports. Along with Scott Wright and Alex Lowry, who may leave the team in the next few days, Rangers are also hoping to get rid of fellow outcast Todd Cantwell, who is training with the B team after filing a transfer request.
Hibs offer under consideration
Luke McCowan, a midfielder for Dundee, is still a target for Hibs.
Easter Road has already seen two of its offers for the Dens Park captain turned down, but a third, estimated to be worth £750,000, is still being considered. The 26-year-old, whose contract expires at the end of the current campaign, is reportedly being watched by several teams; Celtic and Bolton Wanderers are two of those said to be interested.
