Celtic lawyer reacts on social media following the SFA verdict.
The lawyer representing Celtic at the SFA hearing on Thursday afternoon has resorted to social media to express his delight in representing the club once more.
Brendan Rodgers was facing a two- or three-match suspension for comments he made following Celtic’s defeat to Hearts earlier this month.
With the SFA not hearing the matter until the end of March, there was a strong likelihood that the Irishman would be seated in the stands for the Glasgow derby at Ibrox in early April.
Thanks to De Marco’s intervention, the ban is only for one game, which will be served this Sunday against Livingston.
While it’s not ideal, the Bhoys won’t be without their gaffer for a crucial Derby.
Following the ruling, De Marco said on social media:
A pleasure, as ever, to represent Celtic FC and Brendan at today’s hearing. I’m looking forward to getting back up to watch a match at Celtic Park soon again. #Celtic https://t.co/MyDNCehD7l

“A pleasure, as ever, to represent Celtic FC and Brendan at today’s hearing. I’m looking forward to getting back up to watch a match at Celtic Park soon again.”
Make no mistake: if Celtic had not fiercely defended the accusation, the SFA would have most likely imposed a two-match penalty on Brendan.
In the midst of all of this circus, the head of referees resigned following an unofficial vote of no confidence among SPFL members.
Celtic were taken aback when the accusation was revealed and stated their opinion on referees and VAR.
For the hoops, it’s all about getting the job done. We have a crucial game against Livingston at the weekend, and if we don’t win, the Derby may pass us by.
