Celtic Loanee Knocked Out of FA Cup
On Saturday, Celtic loanee Haksabanovic and his Stoke City side faced a stern test in the FA Cup against Premier League outfit Brighton, which resulted in a 4-2 defeat.
The game provided an opportunity for the 24-year-old winger to showcase his abilities on a larger stage. Starting in the starting lineup, Haksabanovic was in the thick of the action for 58 minutes before being replaced with Stoke trailing 2-1.
Despite the defeat, the game provided him with another opportunity to gain valuable match fitness and experience, adding to his 12 appearances this season. It’s worth noting, however, that his season hasn’t been without incident, with an earlier injury keeping him out and disrupting his rhythm.
Ange Postecoglou signed Haksabanovic, who arrived at Celtic with a promising aura but never managed to cement his place in the team. Brendan Rodgers made the decision to loan Sead out, which spoke volumes about his future with the Bhoys.
Now, with the season half over and the summer approaching, his return to Celtic Park is on the horizon.
What awaits Haksabanovic in the green and white?
His absence, marked by a mix of personal growth and collective disappointment, does not paint a clear picture. As things stand, Haksa’s Celtic career appears to be coming to an end. Rodgers has spoken about moulding the team in his image, and Sead is clearly not one of them.
