Celtic make formal bid to sign £8m-rated Polish midfielder
Celtic have made a formal bid to sign LAFC star Mateusz Bogusz. The Scottish Champions are keen to get their business done as soon as possible after a fairly sluggish window in terms of arrivals.
Anthony Joseph, a reporter for Sky Sports, claims that Celtic has made an offer for the £8 million star, who has been the focus of negotiations between the parties.
Despite helping Olivier Giroud, Bogusz was on the losing side in the MLS League Cup Final. But Columbus Crew won 3-1 thanks to two goals in injury time. Celtic can now pursue the adaptable midfield player as LAFC was eager to hold onto the Polish player until after the match.
UPDATE: Celtic will resume negotiations for attacking midfielder Mateusz Bogusz after LAFC’s cup final on Sunday.
The clubs began discussions over a deal for the 23yo.
However, LAFC don’t wish to move forward until after they have played Columbus Crew in the Leagues Cup final. https://t.co/opl81uuWO0

Additionally, Celtic and Augsburg have been in talks to sign Belgian midfielder Arne Engels, who is eager to move to Glasgow. The problem for Celtic is that opposition teams know about the £30 million the club paid Brighton for Matt O’Riley. But as the manager said, it’s a necessary evil at this point since the team needs to keep getting better.
