CELTIC PLOT RECORD KEEPER BID

CELTIC are pondering launching a record-breaking bid for Sparta Prague keeper Peter Vindahl Jensen.

The Hoops have been informed that they will need to raise TWICE as much as they did for their last netminder, the £4.5 million they paid for AEK Athens’ Vasilis Barkas in the summer of 2020.

The Daily Record reports that the Parkhead team has been informed it will require a payment exceeding £8 million for Jensen’s club to reconsider, despite the fact that the champions have set their sights on the 26-year-old custodian from the Czech Republic.
After an outstanding season-long loan from AZ Alkmaar, Jensen was signed for £1.25 million and has only been with the Czechs for a year.
Sparta’s current goal is to profit handsomely from the uncapped Dane.

Following Joe Hart’s announcement in February that he was planning to retire, Brendan Rodgers has been searching the market for his replacement. Joe Hart is a 37-year-old former England international number one with 75 caps.

During Friday night’s 1-1 draw between Somerset Park’s Ayr United and Scott Brown’s team, Rodgers rotated his keepers, giving him a chance to examine Scott Bain, Tobi Olewaymi, and Josh Clarke.
Benji Siegrist’s Hoops contract is still in effect for another two years, but since the conclusion of the previous season, the Swiss last line of defence has not produced anything.

Regarding the goalkeeping situation, Rodgers acknowledged, as CQN reported over the weekend: “We’ve known that since Joe said he was leaving, so it’s definitely one of the areas that we needed to improve.”Yes, that will take some time as well, but our goal is to finish that by the start of the season, hopefully.
Numerous names are being mentioned. Thus, just a decent one would do.
