Scottish champions Celtic are expected to face a battle to retain the services of highly-rated teenage forward Daniel Cummings in the coming months, according to reports from Football Insider.

As the last few months of his contract draw near, the 18-year-old prodigy’s future at Parkhead is unknown.
Cummings is seen to be among the top young players to come out of the prestigious Hoops academy in recent years. As one of the top young forwards in Europe at that level, he has scored in all four of his starts in the UEFA Youth League and has an amazing record of 18 goals in 17 games across all competitions for the Celtic B team this season.

The 2006-born star signed his first professional deal with Celtic in July 2022, although he may leave the team in the summer for a minimum cross-border payment of only £310,000.

Liverpool’s Ben Doak, Brentford star Aaron Hickey, Watford’s Rocco Vata and Millwall’s Daniel Kelly are all examples of players that have been poached from the Celtic academy by English sides in the early stages of their careers.

World Cup winner dismisses talk of replacing Philippe Clement at Ibrox

Amid pressure over Philippe Clement’s future, former Rangers midfielder Gennaro Gattuso has denied rumors that he would make an emotional return to Ibrox.

The Italian, who won the World Cup in 2006, is now the manager of Hajduk Split, a Croatian team. In his 11-year managerial career, he has also managed teams like Marseille, Valencia, Napoli, AC Milan, and Palmero.

At the moment, his Split team is dominating the table and getting ready for a game against Istra 1961. He received an unexpected query in the lead-up to the game asking if he would be interested in taking Clement’s place should the position become vacant.

The two-time Champions League winner responded (via the Daily Record): “There’s nothing about me going to Rangers, only Hajduk is on my mind. It’s just gossip. My only priority is Istra. My only wish is to stay here and achieve our goals.”
