Celtic sent immediate Adam Idah warning as striker already advised on exit plan

After confirming his move to Celtic, Adam Idah has been tipped to return to the Premier League in just two days.

The Ireland international, who was on loan at Parkhead for the second half of the 2023–24 season, officially joined the Hoops this week after they agreed to an £8.5 million deal for his services, with an additional £1 million in potential bonuses. Fans of the Hornets are hoping that Idah can have a lengthy and prosperous career at the team after he scored eight goals in the league in 15 games for Brendan Rodgers’ team the previous season. However, Johannes Hoff Thorup, the manager of Norwich, believes the 23-year-old will return to English football soon.

“He’s been in the Premier League before, of course, and also scored goals,” said the Danish player.”But I see him as a potential Premier League striker with his attributes, his physique, his power, definitely.”

After taking over Norwich for just a few months, Thorup was originally in favour of keeping Idah Carrow Road. He has since acknowledged that moving to Celtic was in everyone’s best interests, though.
“[It was] a good deal for everyone,” he stated. “I am aware of their happiness in Celtic. I’m sure he’s content. Additionally, I believe that everyone in this area is content.”I expressed my strong desire for him to stay at the start of the preseason because I believe he is a talented striker and I am aware that Celtic also like him. I hope he does well in Celtic and I wish him all the best.

And I sincerely hope that he can proceed to pursue the next phase of his career, as I am confident in his abilities. Though I believe they had a positive falling out, I would have preferred for him to stay.
Norwich added a 15% sell-on clause to the agreement, securing Idah’s future with Celtic through 2029. In the League Cup match against Hibernian on Sunday, Rodgers, who plans to make Idah his second debut, waxed poetic about the forward following the announcement of the deal.
The Northern Irishman beamingly said, “The club has done brilliantly to secure this long-term deal.” “We are making a significant investment in a player who will be essential to us in the coming years. He is a player who has already given us so much; last season, he truly delivered for the team and our supporters while playing brilliantly on loan.

“He played a pivotal role in our success last year and I know he can be hugely important for us again,” he stated. “Adam has fantastic attributes and he is a dynamic, hungry, committed player who can make a real difference.”
Idah acknowledged after signing that the allure of going back to Celtic was too strong to resist. He remarked, “I think everyone knew where I wanted to be.” “I find it incredible, and I’m thrilled to be back.”
