Football Insider journalist and Scottish expert Daniel Bowers stated on Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast that Brendan Rodgers “doesn’t get a say” if the club is offered a large fee.

Even though fans would be “disappointed” if the midfielder left Celtic Park, there is also an understanding that Celtic would have to accept a large offer.

A fee of £35 million would break the Scottish transfer record by £10 million, demonstrating O’Riley’s impact last season and the attention he has received since.

The £25 million record was set by Kieran Tierney’s move to Arsenal in the summer of 2019.

Celtic selling O’Riley would be a huge blow to the squad.

While a sale for the central midfielder is likely given his impressive performances last season, his departure would have a significant impact on the squad.

Last season, the Danish international made 37 appearances in the Scottish Premiership, scoring 18 goals and assisting 13 times.

He was a key factor in the Hoops’ Scottish Premiership victory, and he thrived in the Champions League, recording three assists in the European competition.

While Celtic may lose a fan favourite this summer, another could return after Adam Idah shared a green heart on social media, sparking excitement among supporters.

According to Football Insider, the Norwich City striker is “very keen” to return to Celtic Park, and a deal could be completed during this window.
