Owen Beck is still a live option while the Hoops have 3 other positions they want to strengthen

Celtic is still pursuing Owen Beck of Liverpool.

The Welsh defender that the Hoops attempted to sign in January is the subject of negotiations. Beck is still a top choice on manager Brendan Rodgers’ wish list for the left-back position after making an impression while on loan at Dundee in the first half of the previous campaign. If the price is right, Liverpool might be willing to sell Beck; however, the Hoops still have the option of obtaining a loan. In an attempt to unseat Greg Taylor at left defence, Rodgers pursued Beck in January. However, the former manager of Anfield, Jurgen Klopp, blocked his move.

When he faced a defensive injury crisis at the beginning of the season, the German manager called up Beck from his loan at Dundee. The 22-year-old was then allowed to make his Liverpool debut by Klopp, meaning he was unable to play for a third club during the season.

Conversely, Beck made his way back to Dens Park, but an injury marred his second stint with Tony Docherty’s team. But Middlesbrough and Leeds of the English Championship would compete with Celtic for Beck. Werder Bremen is also interested in Ajax defender Owen Wijndal, who has garnered interest from Celtic.

Celtic is also interested in Augsburg midfielder Arne Engels, but that is more likely to happen if Matt O’Riley is sold. Nobody has yet to match his estimation. Rodgers also has a left-sided centre half, a winger, and another striker on his wanted list.

Nicolas Kuhn claims that Celtic wants to win the trophy and the Triple Crown in order to atone for their League Cup mishap from the previous year. The German winger wasn’t present at the club when Brendan Rodgers’ team lost badly to Kilmarnock the previous year.

Kuhn contributed to the Hoops’ Double, winning the Scottish Cup and Premiership after joining in January. But the 24-year-old is adamant that Celtic wants all three trophies ahead of their home match against Hibs on Sunday in the second round.

“The team is very motivated to perform well in every competition this season, starting with this one,” Kuhn stated. That’s our goal there. We intend to enter this game with great enthusiasm and, ideally, come out on top.

Celtic’s Adam Idah celebrates
He will start for Hibs due to Kyogo Furuhashi’s injury. “I’m so glad to see Adam back because we had a great time together last season,” Kuhn remarked. We were all hoping he would come back, so it’s wonderful to see him settle down for good. Adam gives us a lot to offer. He is a unique kind of striker who has led us to numerous significant goals in crucial games.

“Having more quality in the team is always a plus, and he’s a big character in the locker room. Adam is enjoyable to be with.

Although Kuhn has had a fantastic start to the domestic season, he freely acknowledges that he is eager for the Hoops’ Champions League campaign to begin next month. The wide player from RB Leipzig and Bayern Munich added, “There are a lot of great teams we could draw.” I’d like to play them all together. However, it would be nice to potentially play against my former teams, Leipzig and Bayern Munich.
