Celtic Trio Attend Parkhead Dressing Room Meeting.
Greg Taylor revealed that Celtic held a heart-to-heart after their unexpected 1-1 draw with Kilmarnock left fans disappointed and calling for change. The tie, combined with Rangers’ 3-0 victory over St Johnstone, pushed Celtic slightly behind in the title race, prompting captain Callum McGregor to lead a team reflection session.
Captain Callum McGregor led a candid discussion with Joe Hart and Taylor about the team’s recent slump. Taylor told SunSport, “After the game, we talked in the changing room. It’s important to remember that there are still 12 league games remaining, and we clearly need to improve our level of performance.”
Taylor emphasised the squad’s collective responsibility and the inclusive nature of the discussions, saying, “We want to hit the levels we know we can hit, but we all talked about it after the game — we’re a team, so it was coaches, managers, and all the players.” We’re all on the same page, and we all want to perform better for the fans.”
Taylor expressed his empathy for the fans’ frustrations, acknowledging their high expectations: “Dropping points is disappointing, and I feel for the supporters because they expect so much more from us, and rightfully so.” We need to maintain perspective; it is only February, so there is still a long way to go. But we must find a level of performance.”
While the specifics of the dressing-room discussions are kept private, Taylor stated, “It’s probably better just to leave that in the changing room,” he also emphasised the understanding and responsibility shared by all players, including newcomers, to meet the club’s high expectations. “When you have leaders like Callum, Joe and myself, the lads HAVE to get it,” he went on to say.
“I believe we were dominant in the first half…”However, in the latter stages, we lost control, which was disappointing. And we’re trying to figure out why that is.”

He dismissed the notion that fan anxiety could disrupt the team’s composure, emphasising the squad’s professional resilience, “I wouldn’t say it’s because of anxiety from the stands, the players here should be able to deal with that.”
While the gap is only two points at the moment, Celtic fans can expect the team to fall further in the coming weeks unless something fundamental changes. This season, Celtic’s complacency as a club has let the fans down badly.
