Celtic winger hints at possible Parkhead exit.
Celtic winger Marco Tilio hinted at a potential Celtic exit while speaking at Australia’s Asian Cup camp. Tilio has made only two appearances for the Bhoys since signing, and his time there hasn’t gone well.
He was billed as one of Australia’s best football prospects before moving to Glasgow, but that reputation has yet to be fulfilled.
Despite this, the winger believes his time at Celtic has only made him better: “I think it’s only improved me as a player being in and around that every day,” he said (AAP). “But overall, I’d like to get more game time and whatever that looks like, we’ll see what happens.”
Tilio’s potential departure is unsurprising. Understandably, he wants game time at Celtic, which he isn’t getting. Nicolas Kuhn’s potential arrival makes minutes for the 22-year-old all the more unlikely.
It is unclear what Tilio’s exit strategy will be. A permanent departure appears unlikely given that he only joined the Hoops this summer.
On the other hand, given Brendan Rodgers’ previous comments about the player’s inability to handle the demands of the Scottish game, a loan in the Premiership could be ideal. And if he performs well during his temporary spell elsewhere, he will undoubtedly have another chance to impress at Celtic when he returns.
in other news, Tottenham Hotspur is expected to sign a ‘all-action’ deal. Celtic player Ange Postecoglou knows very well.
