Chris Sutton Makes Starling Luis Palma Statement

Luis Palma, a Celtic winger, has been in superb form since joining the club in the summer. So far, the Honduran internationalist has stood out in green and white.

Although he has put up some impressive numbers so far, former Hoops striker Chris Sutton isn’t completely sold on the Honduran international. “The jury is still out despite superb numbers in terms of goals and assets,” he said (Daily Record). He’s got seven goals and eight assists in just 18 appearances – including setting up three against Aberdeen and scoring one himself. There are wide players who don’t produce those stats over an entire season. It’s tough for him as he has big boots to fill as Jota’s apparent replacement.”

So far in Glasgow, Palma has done a commendable job of living up to Jota’s standards. He has already scored in some crucial matches, and Sutton likened him to a Scottish champions cult hero.

Lubo Moravcik was once a standout for the Bhoys. “His cross for Oh’s goal with the outside of his right boot was a touch of class and brought back memories of Lubo Moravcik,” Sutton said of the parallels. Don’t get me wrong: he has a long way to go to reach Lubo’s level, but I believe he has more to offer.”

Palma will be watched closely by Hoops fans and Brendan Rodgers as the season progresses. He is a player who has received Parkhead’s support thus far, which can only be positive and motivate him further.
