Darren Fletcher names the manager he thinks would be perfect to replace Nuno at Nottingham Forest
If Nottingham Forest parted ways with Nuno Espirito Santo, Darren Fletcher has identified one Premier League manager who would be ideal for the team.
This season, the head coach of the Reds has nearly completed his mission.
When he took over for Steve Cooper, his task was to help Forest win their fight to stay in the Premier League.
Though he managed to get Forest to score, some supporters still have questions, and Espirito Santo’s tenure hasn’t been totally convincing.
If Forest decides to make a change, Fletcher has identified a Premier League manager who he believes could be of assistance.
David Moyes, in Darren Fletcher’s opinion, would be ideal for Forest
David Moyes’ time at West Ham is officially over, and he will depart following the team’s match against Manchester City on Sunday.
It might be a bit risky for the Hammers to let go of the 62-year-old after he led them to a European championship.
Fletcher believes Espirito Santo would be first in line for the City Ground position if he were to leave Forest.
“You know what, I will be honest with you, if you want to establish a team in the Premier League, he’s probably as good as there is,” he said in an interview with the Forest Focus podcast.
You can anticipate that he will be very realistic. He’s eliminated that throughout the summer, and I can assure you they’d manage leads better. These are the season’s shortcomings that we’ve discussed today: game management and set-pieces.
Nothing is hidden from his view. There is a perception that he may not play the style of football that supporters desire, but I don’t think Forest should be overly elitist about it.
I believe that people would accept it if you said, “We’ll give this guy the job, and thanks to his experience, we’ll move six or seven places up the Premier League table over the next season.”
“Given where Forest is and their goals, I believe he’s a fantastic option. West Ham was a struggling team before he helped them win trophies in Europe.
Moyes would be solid if unspectacular City Ground appointment
Although it’s difficult to disagree with Fletcher’s viewpoints, it’s difficult to see how every Forest supporter could agree with them.
This may evoke sentiments similar to those held by some Reds supporters who believed that Cooper took a step back in appointing Espirito Santo.
In our opinion, considering what Moyes has accomplished for West Ham, the club may have treated him somewhat inappropriately.
Fletcher is correct when he suggests that Moyes would be a great fit for Forest, and the team would love to stabilise in the Premier League.
It’s difficult to believe he would want to return to management right away, which would make it challenging for any club to appoint him.
Moyes is a quality manager who is sixty-two years old, and his arrival would feel good but not spectacular.
Moyes possesses the necessary experience, but his playing style might come across as a little more realistic than Espirito Santo, which might not be well received by the crowd.
