Rangers face a Malmo side that have a formidable record against Scottish teams in recent years

Speaking ahead of the trip to Sweden, Dessers, who has seven goals in nine matches for Rangers this term, told Mail Sport: ”I think we have a very beautiful but very difficult draw.”

Malmo can brag of having only ever lost to Scottish clubs in eight meetings dating back to 2011.

The Nigerian forward is sure his club can halt that streak of failure, though. He went on, “These are the games you want to play when you’re playing in Europe, but Malmo away is not an easy start.”

“I think we can get some confidence and a boost from the win over Dundee, and hopefully we can perform well and win there as well.”

Celtic suffer huge injury setback ahead of trip to Borussia Dortmund

On Tuesday, October 1, at Signal Iduna Park, two of the noisiest supporter bases in Europe will square off when Celtic travel to play Borussia Dortmund, who will be supported by their boisterous yellow wall.

Dortmund has a strong team all across the field and advanced all the way to the Champions League final the previous season. But after suffering a 5-1 loss to VFB Stuttgart over the weekend, Celtic supporters will be growing more optimistic that they may cause an upset in Germany.

Celtic’s defense has been well-known for its strength this season, but Brendan Rodgers says defensive mainstay Cameron Carter-Vickers is unlikely to participate in the team’s upcoming European match due to a metatarsal injury.

Rodgers told Football Scotland : “Cam has been suffering a wee bit with his metatarsal, below his big toe. We gave it a little bit of a period earlier on, a few weeks back, and he was okay.

We’ve given him today off because he’s a little sore from playing back-to-back games, obviously. We’ll simply evaluate that and see how it goes later this week.”

But in his quest to recover from a back injury, right-back Alistair Johnston is improving well in advance of the match against Borussia Dortmund. He should start exercising later this week.
