Carson, who recently replaced Jon McCracken in the starting lineup, has been confirmed by manager Tony Docherty to be unavailable. The experienced goalkeeper, whom Brendan Rodgers sought at Celtic during his first spell, has started the last few games for Dundee.

Jon McCracken will now return to the lineup, ready to seize the opportunity. McCracken, who was recently named to Scotland’s national team squad by Steve Clarke, will be looking to impress in order to reclaim his regular spot at Dundee and advance his national team aspirations.

Dundee boss Tony Docherty admits derby draw disappointment
Docherty expressed hope to The Courier that Carson’s injury would be short-term, saying: “Trevor picked up a wee knock so he’ll be out of contention. I’m hoping they’ll make a full recovery and be back in contention for Sunday.”

With Dundee without their first-choice keeper and facing an in-form Celtic side at Parkhead, the onus will be on McCracken and the Dundee defence to rise to the occasion.
