Everton ace Neal Maupay brutally trolls James Maddison after England snub
The 27-year-old played for Brentford on loan during the 2023–2024 season, and when the two teams met at the Gtech Community Stadium, he and the Tottenham midfielder got into arguments.
After Spurs won 3-2, Maupay scored a goal and made amends by replicating Maddison’s iconic dart celebration. This led to a confrontation between the two players, with Richarlison mimicking Maddison’s celebration after scoring the game-winning goal.
After Maddison was left out of Gareth Southgate’s England squad for this summer’s Euro 2024 in Germany, the back and forth appears to have resumed.
Maupay sent a picture of himself in front of a dartboard to X a few minutes after the midfielder expressed on social media how heartbroken he was to miss out.

Reactions to the social media post have been wildly inconsistent; some have found his response amusing, while others have criticised his lack of professionalism towards a fellow football player.
Conversely, Maddison advanced to the championship round and narrowly lost out as a result of a poor performance at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
