Everton begin moves to seal attacker loan for 24/25 season already
According to the Daily Mirror, Everton has started the process of securing winger Jack Harrison of Leeds United for a second consecutive loan this summer.
According to an article in the print edition of the newspaper (page 56, May 21), the Toffees are eager to keep the 27-year-old on board, but they are unable to do so in the long run because of ongoing financial concerns off the pitch. As a result, they are looking to make a temporary transfer.
But talks won’t be able to start in earnest until after Leeds’ playoff match against Southampton on May 26.
Must Everton attempt to sign Jack Harrison again?
Harrison proved to be a valuable addition to the Everton team in 2023–2024, even though the group struggled offensively.
Only Dwight McNeil had more assists than him in all competitions for Everton, and with four goals, he tied for fourth place behind only Beto, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and Abdoulaye Doucoure.
With an average of 0.45 crosses into the penalty area per 90 in the Premier League this season, the wide attacker’s main creative threat came from his deliveries into the middle [FBref].
In the competition, he connected on 0.57 crosses per game overall, averaging 0.13 xA (expected assists) per 90 [FotMob].
In addition to being instrumental in moving the Toffees up the pitch from their usual low block position and relieving pressure, his 1.18 successful dribbles per 90 were also vital in providing an attacking outlet.
For a player who is accustomed to the Goodison Park surroundings, another inexpensive loan agreement might be a wise choice.
