Everton offered £150m to complete Bramley Moore Dock stadium project

To finish construction on their new stadium at Bramley Moore Dock, Everton has gotten a significant boost.

A Bloomberg report claims that private equity firm GDA Luma Capital has extended a £150 million loan to the Toffees in order to finish the stadium project.

It will be interesting to watch if the Toffees accept the assistance and finish building the new 53,000-capacity stadium in Liverpool’s Bramley Docks. GDA Luma Capital specialises in distressed debt.

In March, Josimar revealed that Everton was exploring alternative sources of funding for the stadium project.

There have been questions raised about the 777 Partners’ financial capacity to support the team going forward after the Premier League made it clear that they would need to generate funds in order to finish the stadium project.

A new stadium for Everton is essential to the team’s development.

A recent report from The Times claims that Farhad Moshiri is thinking of ending the agreement with the 777 Partners.
The Toffees are still in the middle of the takeover process as the season draws to a close. This week, Alan Myers reported that the 777 Partners had contributed an additional £8 million to sustain operating expenses in accordance with the agreement with Moshiri.

Since reaching an agreement with Moshiri to take over the club, the potential new owners have already contributed about £210 million. The Premier League has not yet given the Miami-based group the all-clear.

Their financial support has begun to ring hollow for Moshiri, and co-founders Josh Wander and Steve Pasko have been kicked off the football division board.
