Ex-Hoops Star Frozen Out at Brugge Ahead of Celtic Showdown
Not looking like Dedryk Boyata will be returning to Celtic Park when Club Brugge plays Glasgow in the Champions League next month.
He’s been having trouble with the Belgian side this season and has been relegated to training with the academy side. His absence from the first team is a clear indicator that his time at Club Brugge is ultimately over, especially with his contract winding down. [Gazet van Antwerpen]
Many Celtic supporters have differing views regarding the defender, particularly in light of his departure. Despite his occasional stumbles, it’s undeniable that he was a reliable defender for the Hoops.
With his playing days numbered, he has found himself in a difficult situation at the age of 33 and will try to return to playing regular minutes with another team as soon as possible.
The Belgian side heads to Celtic Park on November 27th for matchday five of the Champions League. Following their match, Celtic will play three more games in an attempt to qualify for the knockout stages.
After playing and defeating Slovan Bratislava, they will now go to Borussia Dortmund and Atalanta before welcoming Leipzig of Germany.
It’s then another home match, this time against Club Brugge, before travelling to Zagreb, hosting Young Boys and then finishing their league campaign against Aston Villa in Birmingham.
