Fabrizio Romano confirms ex-Celtic star Jota to sign for French side
The former Celtic star Jota is expected to sign with French team Rennes, according to Fabrizio Romano. For quite some time, the Italian journalist has been a source of frustration for Celtic fans, as he frequently only provides updates on high-profile departures. He has now confirmed that Jota will be joining the Ligue 1 team on loan from Al Ittihad, which has further enraged Celtic supporters.

Romano announced on Twitter/X that the Portuguese winger would be joining Rennes on loan, with official procedures to come.
Brendan has expressed his desire for quality during the transfer window, and Jota would have met this requirement without a doubt. Unless he was available on a free agent this summer, a deal seemed unlikely given the player’s salary in Saudi Arabia. Given his success in Glasgow, one would think that the player would be eager to return to Celtic. Jota made 83 appearances for Celtic during his two years with the team under Ange, helping them win five trophies. He linked with several clubs as a result of his 28 goals and 26 assists during those games.
It’s hopefully a year in the footballing wilderness before Jota returns to playing and loving his game. On Tuesday, Celtic submitted bids in an attempt to secure deals for Auston Trusty, Mateusz Bogusz, and Arne Engels. In the coming days, the club hopes to bring in a number of players.
