Fabrizio Romano releases a Celtic transfer update on highly-rated star Rocco Vata.

Nine days into the January transfer window, Celtic has seen no movement, either in terms of incomings or outgoings.

However, some rumours about Celtic players leaving are beginning to emerge.

Fabrizio Romano claimed on Twitter that Serie A club Bologna is interested in Celtic’s highly rated star, Rocco Vata.

The Italian journalist added that ‘talks are expected soon’ because interest in the 18-year-old is ‘growing’.

The simple fact is that Rocco Vata’s contract at Parkhead expires in the summer, allowing him to sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club today and join them in the summer.

The Irishman has four appearances for the club, but he has yet to play under Brendan Rodgers, and he was one of the players predicted by 67 Hail Hail to depart in January.

As a result, it’s no surprise that his name is now being mentioned in such a way, with summer signing Gustaf Lagerbielke also reportedly interested in a deal with a Serie A club.
Celtic’s January transfer window thus far

It’s been relatively quiet, but it’s still early days, and it appears that the players have taken a mini break before returning to action and gearing up for the second half of the season again.

But the truth is that Rodgers hasn’t used him much, so he clearly dislikes something about him.

You wouldn’t be surprised if things pick up by the beginning of next week and moves are made.

Perhaps it’s a case of getting players out before any new arrivals arrive at Celtic Park, with a keen interest in where Brendan Rodgers improves on the pitch.

If Lagerbielke leaves, will he replace him with another center-back? His main two players are Liam Scales and Cameron Carter-Vickers, while Maik Nawrocki has performed well in recent games.
