Former Ohio State Star Chase Young Has Multiple Suitors In Free Agency

Chase Young, a former defensive end for Ohio State, may not be returning to San Francisco, but he will have competition this offseason in free agency to secure a possibly lucrative contract. Before deciding where he will play in 2024, Young, the former No. 2 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, is anticipated to visit with the Tennessee Titans, Carolina Panthers, and New Orleans Saints, per NFL Network. Since only those three teams have been mentioned, Young may eventually sign with another team. All of the teams require a top-tier pass-rusher after their miserable 2023 seasons in the trenches.

Chase Young Free Agency Predictions: Landing Spots Include Ravens, Seahawks, Falcons, and More
After being selected by the Washington Commanders in the 2019 Heisman Trophy, Young had high expectations going into the NFL. After winning AP Defensive Rookie of the Year, he appeared destined to be the league’s premier pass-rusher, but injuries have largely derailed his career. Between 2021 and 2022, Young missed 22 games due to an ACL tear and a ruptured patellar tendon. At the beginning of the 2023 season, he appeared to be getting back on track, but Young was traded out west when Washington decided to begin a rebuilding project. Young was a good defensive end in a rotation, but his output was never up to par. Out of nine games, he had 2.5 sacks and one tackle for loss while playing for the NFC Champion team. Young finished with five sacks, six tackles for loss, and nine quarterback hits in Washington.
