Gary Neville changes Premier League top four prediction as he delivers Nottingham Forest verdict
Gary Neville has delivered his verdict on Nottingham Forest’s chances of finishing in the top four in the Premier League.
At the moment, Forest is in fourth place, ahead of Manchester City and behind Liverpool, Chelsea, and Arsenal.
After 16 games this season, the Reds are in fourth place in the top flight, defying all expectations. Nuno’s team joins Liverpool, Chelsea, and Arsenal in the top four, one spot ahead of champions Manchester City.
Supporters are hopeful that they will qualify to play in Europe next season after their outstanding play, which has seen them defeat Manchester United, Liverpool, and Aston Villa, who ended in fourth place the previous season.
Making his latest top-four prediction, Neville told the Overlap US: “Top four… I’ve not got full faith in Tottenham, Aston Villa and, to be fair, Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth and all the other teams that are in and around it.
l
“I think it will be (Man) City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal at this moment in time. It’s the first time I haven’t said (Manchester) United will be in the top four, I think, in about 15 years!”
In the past, Neville had predicted that Manchester United will be among the top four.
Neville’s top-four prediction was echoed by his co-host Jamie Carragher, who said: “I’ll pick Liverpool [to win] and Chelsea second because they don’t have Europe.” Consequently, I’ll support Manchester City, Chelsea, and Arsenal.”
