Ally McCoist was exposed in SECONDS after pulling an undercover Celtic wind-up job on his talkSPORT pals.

The Rangers hero, who called in as ‘Dave the Celtic fan,’ was connected to co-hosts Alan Brazil and Gabby Agbonlahor on the breakfast program. He took to the airwaves to call Brendan Rodgers’ team ‘bang ordinary’ despite scoring five goals against Slovan Bratislava in their Champions League debut. But even before he got his first point across, Agbonlahor nudged Brazil and whispered ‘that’s Ally’ before the Hoops foolish commentator yelled ‘Get lost McCoist!’

The trio burst out laughing in a light-hearted moment, before the Ibrox great later conceded it was a fantastic result for the Scottish champions. That prompted him to discuss ONE of the biggest contrasts between the Glasgow rivals, while joking that Europa League matches against Tottenham and Manchester United will have him ‘watching from behind the sofa’ in terms of current form.

Ally McCoist, calling in as ‘Dave the Celtic fan’ said: “Morning boys how are we?”

The trio broke into laughter before Gabby Agbonlahor shouted: “Ally! I could tell straight away.”

Alan Brazil: “What is wrong with you?

Alan Brazil: “Away you go.” Before joking: “Who have you got in the Glasgow Cup? Thistle or who? Clyde?”

Ally McCoist, responding through laughter, said: “We’ve got Queen’s Park at home and I will be going anyway..”

As the conversation shifted to Rangers, McCoist admitted that the opponents Philippe Clement’s side will face in Europe’s second tier are nothing short of magnificent. As part of their eight games in the new league phase, they will face Spurs at Ibrox under Ange Postecoglou, as well as Manchester United at Old Trafford. He then conceded that Celtic are far ahead of Rangers in one area, referring to it as ‘one of the key distinctions’ between the Glasgow rivals.

McCoist reacted: “They are brilliant games. I will be watching those two from behind the couch right enough I think with the way things are going at the moment. You couldn’t make it up really. Big Ange coming back up to Ibrox then going to Old Trafford. Two great games.

“But in all seriousness. That was some result for Celtic. I know I am kidding on but that was some result. They’ve got 2 or 3 players who look good. That is one of the big differences in terms of the recruitment. Celtic’s recruitment in recent years has been very, very good and ours across the city has been nothing like as good. That is one of the big differences.”
