One thing the Celtic fans love from a winger is someone who can dribble and take a man on at pace.

The Hoops support has been blessed for decades with attackers who have done that at the club. Jimmy Johnstone, Didier AgatheDaizen Maeda and Jota are four names that spring to mind immediately. There are, of course, many more.

However, Chris Sutton has said that Celtic have another player at the club who is starting to show his quality on the wing and looks like he could cause defences in the Scottish Premiership real problems.

The former Celtic hero was running his eye over the squad and discussing whether or not the Hoops should be looking to sign Lawrence Shankland when he turned his attention to South Korean winger, Hyunjun Yang.

Chris Sutton issues verdict on Celtic’s Hyunjun Yang

Yang joined Celtic in the summer for a fee of £2m and whilst he has enjoyed a bumpy start to his career, the 22-year-old is now starting to impress and Sutton believes he is now starting to show his ability.

Sutton said [Daily Record], “We knew he could dribble but he’s starting to produce an end product and no doubt Rodgers is working on him.

“He’s got great feet and tremendous pace. Now he’s starting to play with his head up, he’s got the ability to cause defenders real problems.”

Yang has been impressive over the last few games for Celtic. Pivotal in securing the 2-1 win over St Mirren at Parkhead, the youngster is starting to show the form that earned him the title of the K League Young Player of the Year last season.

Breaking his scoring duck for Celtic against Aberdeen last weekend will also be a huge boost to Yang’s confidence and Brendan Rodgers will be hoping to see more of his direct running and skill as the season progresses.
