Green Brigade disclose plans for Rangers blockbuster, as Celtic ultras see off their heroes and send an appeal to fans
Brendan Rodgers’ team is scheduled to leave the Celtic Way for an overnight hotel stay on the eve of their crucial match.
The Green Brigade has urged Celtic fans to make a beeline for Parkhead on Saturday to give their heroes a fitting send-off before their title clash with Rangers.
Brendan Rodgers’ squad is due to leave the Celtic Way on Saturday afternoon for an overnight hotel stay on the eve of their historic visit to Ibrox. The Green Brigade has previously poured on Lennoxtown to demonstrate their support, but this time around, they have requested fans to go to Celtic Park. Celtic will travel to Ibrox for the final time without fans, but fans plan to express their support before the ball is played. An photograph sent to their social media page said, “See off the team. Onto victory once more, don’t give up on the dream.”
Celtic will be without their most ardent supporters at Ibrox, and their appeal comes hours after Livingston accused them of using a flag that had been refused prior to kick-off. It read: ““There were a number of issues which arose before and during Sunday’s match with Celtic which we, as a club, feel we need to address.
Prior to this game, a visiting fans club called ‘The Green Brigade’, through the Celtic SLO, requested a tifo display in all three Celtic support stands, as well as a banner at the front of the East Stand. The banner was supposed to read ‘You Play for Us, and We’ll Sing for You’. This request was denied, however authorization was granted for a Tifo and banner display in the South Stand only.”
In other news, Kevin Thomson says Celtic’s ‘unsung hero’ deserves more praise.
