‘He’s back’ – Alistair Johnston’s Fantastic Sunday Evening Celtic Post
Alistair Johnston’s social media tribute to Kyogo Furuhashi exemplified the Celtic squad’s camaraderie.
The Japanese talisman found redemption in the net against St Mirren, sparking the start of what Celtic fans hope will be a return to his scoring form.
Johnston, who is currently sidelined due to a head injury sustained in a tough match against Hibernian, offered encouragement from the sidelines on Sunday night via Instagram, writing: “He’s back!”
Kyogo’s timely revival was highlighted by his pivotal goal, which set the tone for a 2-0 victory. His celebration, a mix of relief and pure joy, was for more than just the goal, but also for overcoming the obstacles that had kept him benched during the Hibs game at Easter Road. Kyogo’s return to the starting eleven had an immediate and decisive impact, reigniting the spark on which Celtic had grown to rely.
The victory has set up a home tie in the Scottish Cup quarterfinals against Livingston, giving Celtic a golden opportunity to move closer to retaining the Scottish Cup trophy. After winning the silverware last season, the squad is focused on repeating that success, with the hope that Kyogo will continue to play an important role in their quest for more trophies.
