Hijacking Adam Idah’s training cameo, Celtic supporters demand that Norwich “stop holding him hostage.”
One expectant Celtic fan demanded he gets ‘back up the road’.
Adam Idah was spotted training with his Norwich teammates, and Celtic fans took to social media to tell him to ‘get up the road’.
The Hoops are in talks to bring the striker back to Parkhead after a successful loan spell in the second half of last season, during which Idah scored nine goals, including the winner in the Scottish Cup final. It is expected that an agreement between the two parties will be reached at some point, but it is taking its time, and fans are growing impatient.
Celtic fans flooded Skyscanner on Tuesday after Idah posted a picture from a plane, with the hope that he was on his way to Glasgow or to the United States to join Brendan Rodgers and his team for pre-season. But that didn’t happen, as it turned out he was actually going to Belgium for Norwich’s preseason camp.
Footage and images posted on Norwich’s social media accounts have since confirmed this, and it’s safe to say Celtic fans are not pleased to see him getting his head down with his current teammates. #FreeAdam was spotted in the comments section of a video featuring Idah getting down to business for a few seconds.
Supporters of the Scottish Premiership champions also flooded the comments section on both Instagram and X(Twitter), with one writing: “Stop gatekeeping Idah, he wants to be at Celtic,” and another saying, “Stop holding Idah hostage.”
Other comments were more concise. “Tell Idah to get back up the road,” said one impatient fan, while another simply said, “Give us the f****** Idah back.”
On X they were comments like, “Hand over Idah, Hurry up and give us Idah, Idah get up the road!, Give us idah ya pr*cks, Stop holding Idah hostage you English b*st*rds.”
