How the Celtic Dressing Room Reacted to Kyogo’s Missed Chance vs Dundee Utd

Callum McGregor claims that Kyogo Furuhashi’s wasted opportunity against Dundee United on Sunday was “no problem” in the Celtics’ locker room.
At Tannadice, the Hoops had to earn the points by working hard, and in the end, they were unable to overcome a resolute United team.
Jim Goodwin’s team played excellent defense the entire 90 minutes, and even though the Bhoys only managed three attempts on goal, they had plenty of opportunities.
Late in the game, Arne Engels nearly toe-poked the ball home from close range to win it for the visitors, but the game’s biggest opportunity went to Kyogo, who is often dependable.

The Japanese forward should have scored after receiving the ball close inside the box, but he was unable to change his footing in time. Jack Walton, the keeper for United, properly smothered the ball.

However, after the game, Kyogo’s teammates weren’t at bit irritated with him. In fact, captain Callum McGregor acknowledges the 29-year-old’s historic importance to the Scottish Premiership winners and knows that one mistake won’t defeat him.

He said (The Celtic Way): “Kyogo will be fine. Yeah, okay, he missed the chance. How many goals has he scored for us over the piece? He’s won us countless games, countless big games and trophies.

“In the big moment, he’s been the go-to man for us. Strikers will miss chances; it’s no problem. He’ll be fine and we go again as a team, so we have no problem with that at all.”

As McGregor explained, Kyogo wasn’t precise enough, and although his miss cost his team some points because it prevented them from winning, he has created many significant moments for Celtic in the past.

However, according to recent sources, MLS team Atlanta United, led by former Hoops manager Ronny Deila, is exploring a £10 million bid for the forward, suggesting that his time in Glasgow may be coming to an end soon.

Although the outcome of the aforementioned rumors is yet unknown, Parkhead is expected to be very active in January.
