‘I watched him against England’: Peter Grant backs Celtic to sign forward amid Celtic striker search

The January transfer window closes next week, and Celtic’s only significant move thus far has been the acquisition of Nicolas Kuhn.

If things pick up over the next week, it’s possible that a striker will enter the Parkhead building.

When asked about Aberdeen striker Bojan Miovski possibly joining Celtic, Peter Grant told Go Radio that he has been’really impressed’ by him this season.

Why Celtic won't pay 'silly money' for Aberdeen star Bojan Miovski
Despite Aberdeen’s struggles in the Scottish Premiership, the 24-year-old has nine goals in 18 matches [Transfermarkt], including 16 across all competitions.

Both the North Macedonia star and Hearts’ Lawrence Shankland appear to be the talk of the striker town in Scotland.

Whether it’s this month or in the summer, it wouldn’t be surprising if the duo took the next step sooner rather than later.

And Peter Grant was clear that Bojan Miovski possesses the skill set to step up for a team like Celtic and score goals.

“He’s a goalscorer. If he can score goals for Aberdeen, and you get the opportunity to play as many games for Celtic, then you will score goals because we create more opportunities.

“He is only 24 and a number 9 for the national team as well. I watched him against England as well. He did well against England. That’s where I was looking at him. How is he going to be at that level? He seems to have a very good attitude.”

Celtic’s Search for a Striker

There is no doubt that Kyogo Furuhashi is the number one; it is simply a matter of bringing someone in to really push him.

If that striker arrives, there is no point in him being a rising star because Celtic have Hyeongyu Oh to help him develop.

He needs to be ready-made, but that is easier said than done.
