Instagram Post by Oh Drops hints at a Celtic Exit.
Oh Hyeon-gyu, a striker for Celtic, appears to be the first of many fringe players to leave the team this summer.
After spending eighteen months in Glasgow, South Korean striker is expected to leave Brendan Rodgers’ fattened team.
According to reports, Oh has reached a personal terms agreement with KRC Genk, a top-tier Belgian team. The team is currently in talks with Celtic about a potential £4.2 million contract that includes bonuses.
It is admirable that the Scottish champions turned a profit of under £2 million on a striker who made 47 appearances and scored 12 goals.
Oh has hinted on Instagram that he may be leaving Celtic, so it appears like it will only be a matter of time before he departs.
He uploaded a video of himself working out early this morning, just commenting, “Next one…”
It is not hard to propose the meaning of “one” as a metaphor. Oh might as well have written “Next club,” given that he removed all of his Instagram posts featuring the Celtics.
When it comes to the attacker’s Parkhead escape, the question is not if, but when. Oh’s move, which is not regarded by manager Brendan Rodgers, is best for all parties involved.
