‘It will take time’. Nuno advises Nottingham Forest fans not to get overly excited about striker
Nuno, Nottingham Forest’s head coach, has issued his verdict on Rodrigo Ribeiro.
Nuno has indicated that he may not use Ribeiro much for Forest in the coming weeks.
So, what did Nuno say about Nottingham Forest striker Rodrigo Ribeiro? Let’s have a look.
Nuno discusses Nottingham Forest striker Rodrigo Ribeiro.
Nottingham Forest signed Rodrigo Ribeiro from Sporting Lisbon during the January transfer window.
According to Forest’s official website, Ribeiro has joined the Reds on loan for the remainder of the season. The statement also mentioned that it “could become permanent beyond that”.
Forest have described the 18-year-old as “an exciting young forward,” noting that he has previously appeared in the UEFA Champions League.
Forest manager Nuno has described Ribeiro as talented, but the former Wolverhampton Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur manager has stated that he does not expect the striker to make an immediate impact at City Ground.
Nuno told Sky Sports about Ribeiro: “He’s young, but he has talent. It will take time for him to achieve what we expect of him.
My opinion: Rodrigo Ribeiro is one of the future.
In my opinion, Nottingham Forest fans should be patient with Rodrigo Ribeiro. He is only 18 and still a teenager.
Ribeiro is not the finished article, and he will not be for a few more years. If Forest, who face Newcastle United in the Premier League on Saturday, make the deal permanent, the City Ground faithful must back him and stick with him.
The teenager has already made his Premier League debut for Forest, who also acquired Giovanni Reyna during the January transfer window. Before joining the Reds, Ribeiro scored two goals in seven starts and three substitute appearances in Liga 3.
