Its Shocking What Mike Dean said after Nottingham Forest thought they should have had a penalty in Wolves draw
Mike Dean’s remarks regarding Forest’s penalty appeal
Wood appeared certain to score from a ball that Forest threw into the box right before the halftime siren.
But the ball that was about to arrive appeared to have struck Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen in the arm.
It might not have been deliberate, but it made the City Ground look like they should have taken a spot kick.
Former Premier League referee Mike Dean actually acknowledged Hooper might have erred in his call during his Saturday speech on Sky Sports Soccer.
“It appeared to be a penalty for Forest.” He said, “It’s crossed his head, and Larsen simply moved his left arm to knock the ball out of Wood’s path in the box.
“I’m shocked; it should have been investigated and ruled out, but the Wolves defender is one lucky kid,”
Chris Wood gives Forest supporters the striker’s response.
With double digit players coming through the doors in the summer market, Forest was one of the busiest teams in the Premier League.
But with Santiago Gimenez turning down the opportunity to join Forest, Forest were unable to sign a new striker.
However, Chris Wood’s early-season performances are demonstrating to Forest supporters that the New Zealand striker is exactly what they need.
The only problem that Forest might encounter up top is an injury to Wood, as Nuno doesn’t have many quality options available to switch up the former Newcastle United striker.
