Jalen Hurts Issues 4-Word Update on Injured Knee After Playoff Victory
The Philadelphia Eagles narrowly secured a 28-22 win over the Los Angeles Rams to advance to their third NFC Championship game in eight years.

The game ended dramatically as the Rams failed to convert a 4th-and-11 in the final 26 seconds, sealing the Eagles’ victory. However, attention quickly shifted to the health of franchise quarterback Jalen Hurts.
Hurts spent five minutes in the medical tent during the third quarter after landing awkwardly on a sack, returning to the game with a brace on his left knee. Concerns about his mobility were amplified after his very next play, when Rams defensive tackle Neville Gallimore tackled him for a safety.

Despite the setback, Hurts remained in the game, guiding the Eagles to victory with the help of crucial Rams turnovers and a 78-yard touchdown by Saquon Barkley in the fourth quarter. However, questions about his knee injury and its potential impact on the upcoming NFC Championship game against the Washington Commanders linger.
Hurts Gives Brief Update
When asked by NBC’s Melissa Stark about his injury, Hurts offered a terse response: “I finished the game.”
He added, “I’m sure I’ll get asked about it later. I don’t know if I can answer it right now – but I’m going to go enjoy this win with my teammates.”
Hurts’ non-committal answer leaves uncertainty about the extent of his injury and his readiness for next week. More details are expected to emerge in the coming days.
Update: Hurts Cleared to Play
Eagles insider Zach Berman has since reported that Hurts is expected to play in the NFC Championship game, offering some reassurance to Philadelphia fans.

However, while Hurts may be cleared to start, concerns about his mobility remain unresolved. His effectiveness as a quarterback is heavily tied to his ability to create plays on the run and execute read-option schemes. Even a slight limitation in his movement could impact the Eagles’ offensive performance against the Commanders.
Looking Ahead to Championship Sunday
Hurts is a capable pocket passer, but his dual-threat ability is what elevates the Eagles’ offense. If his knee injury restricts his mobility, it could hinder both his personal performance and the team’s dynamic play-calling. As the Eagles prepare for their NFC East rivals, the focus will be on managing Hurts’ workload and ensuring he can compete at a high level.
Philadelphia fans will be watching closely for further updates as the Eagles aim to return to the Super Bowl.
