Jared Verse add comments on his hate of Eagles fans after reactions from Eagle fans.

Jared Verse, the Rams linebacker, has made headlines recently for his strong feelings toward Eagles fans, admitting that he “hates” them because “they’re so annoying.”

While he refrained from doubling down on these comments when speaking on Friday, Verse didn’t back down from his statements made just the day before.

On Friday morning, Verse recalled waking up early at 4 a.m. to find an onslaught of social media posts discussing his controversial remarks that had been shared with the Los Angeles Times.

“The first thing I see, ‘I hate Eagles fans,’ I’m like ‘Oh, yeah I’m done,’” Verse said, laughing. He continued, recalling his initial reaction: “I’m like ‘Oh no.’ . . . So, they seemed pretty upset by it, but you got to move on from it.” Despite the backlash, Verse maintained his position, signaling that he wasn’t overly concerned by the negative responses.

Verse also received support from his head coach, Sean McVay, who stood by the linebacker’s comments, suggesting that Verse had simply “spoken his truth.” McVay’s backing provided a sense of solidarity for Verse, reinforcing that there were no hard feelings about the statements. Despite this, Verse remained clear that he wasn’t interested in lingering on the issue.

“I just want to move on from it,” Verse said, addressing the situation. “What was said, was said. That was the past. We’ve got a game to handle.” His focus shifted quickly to the upcoming game, suggesting that the comments were behind him and not something he planned to dwell on.

In contrast, Eagles running back Saquon Barkley, who spent six seasons with the rival New York Giants, weighed in on Verse’s comments. Barkley acknowledged that the remarks were “probably not the smartest thing to say when you’re coming to Philadelphia,” referencing the passionate and often intense nature of Eagles fans. However, Barkley offered a pragmatic perspective, recognizing that, regardless of the reaction, what’s said is said. He also emphasized that how the Eagles fans respond to Verse’s words is entirely up to them, underlining the unpredictable and fervent nature of Philadelphia’s fanbase.
